It will still begin at 10am MDT, and riders are encouraged to bring a desert or salad. The Spurs will provide a potluck dinner after the poker run. The event kicks off at 5:30 with a meet and greet with candidates and the forum begins at 6:30 pm. The event is free and takes place at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds Ag building.&nbsp;

The more than 150 motorcycle riders will be stopping for the night at the Holiday Inn Express in North Platte around 7pm and will setting up an area in the parking lot for fans to gather and meet and greet with many of the celebrity's making the trip.&nbsp;

North Platte, Neb. - The Mid-Plains United Way is preparing to announce the 2024-2025 agency partners as the board is finalizing the last presentations from non-profits who submitted in an application. The new agencies will be announced sometime next week. As the campaign year ends, the united way is around $169,000 out of the $200,000 goal and making a last push effort. &nbsp;

Folks can now donate monthly if they like or May 8th is Giving Day which the united way will be a part of. As details become available, Mid-Plains United Way is preparing to host an event in June called human tractor pull. The event will run during NebraskaLand Days.&nbsp;

North Platte, Neb. - Mid-Plains Community College (MPCC) North Platte location is hosting the Knights BBQ Cookoff on April 20th on the NPCC South Campus pavilion. Public activities will be available during the cookoff which are set to kick off at 4:00pm, 6:00pm is when the meal will be served and awards for the competition will take place at 7:30. Rascal Martinez, an alum of MPCC will be performing live music around 6:00pm.&nbsp;

MPCC numbers for the competition are low and are looking for anywhere from 5-15 teams to join the competition. If numbers remain low, the event will no longer have a competition but those in attendance will still receive a meal. If you would like to register a team, <a href="https://commerce.cashnet.com/cashnetg/static/storefront/KTBBQ/catalog">click here</a>. The Documentary will explore Kevin's incredible journey from North Platte to the ends of the Earth as he writes 7 songs on 7 continents in 7 weeks. The show is a amazing 7 part documentary travel series as Kevin travels through the USA, Argentina, Antarctica, Laos, Ethiopia, Serbia, and Australia. North Platte, Neb. - The Prairie Arts Center (PAC) is gearing up with new events and classes for the month of April and beyond. The PAC is hosting a concert this Saturday as welcome Job, Peter and Chuck for a one night performance. The trio, which used to sing together is getting back together for the evening with their concert at the PAC called "You Can't Make Old Friends". 

The show is set to begin at 7:00pm and very few tickets remain, to purchase a ticket if still available, <a href="https://www.prairieartscenter.org/booking-calendar/you-can-t-make-old-friends-concert?referral=service_list_widget">click here</a>. The PAC is also will be hosting classes for adults and kids. Kid classes sign ups are on April 22nd.&nbsp;

The event was a huge success in the kid's egg hunt but also the adult hunt, as over $3,000 was raised. Mid-Plains United Way is also getting ready for Giving Day on May 8th. The organization also recently introduced a monthly donation online from the organization's website if you would like to give a recurring donation.&nbsp;

North Platte, Neb. - NPIce concluded their second year with great successful. NPIce offered public skating, hockey lessons, drop-in hockey, learn to skate and residents and surrounding communities took notice and made the trip out to the rink in North Platte.&nbsp;&nbsp;

NPIce is already looking ahead for the 2023-2024 winter season and has sponsorships and project goals ready to go. A goal project goal that NPIce has been thinking about is adding a cover over the rink. During Feb. we seen a few days where the warm weather caused the ice to melt. NPIce will be a part of Giving Day on May 8th, planning on doing more dine out days and also having a glo ball golf tournament in North Platte.&nbsp;

North Platte, Neb. - North Platte Community College's theatre department is getting ready to present "Plan 9 From Outer Space" on April 3rd - 6th at 7:30pm at the McDonald-Belton Theatre on the NPCC South Campus. Admission to the play is $5 per person. College students, faculty and staff will be allowed in for free if they show their ID.

North Platte, Neb. - North Platte Jaycees and Viaero are excited to co-host the 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday beginning at 2:00pm CT. The event is free to participate and it is asked that kids bring their own baskets to the hunt. There will be four different age groups of kids that will go during the hunt. After the hunt is over, prizes will be raffled. It is asked that you show up around 1:30pm to get registered for the event.&nbsp;

During his stop in North Platte, State Treasurer Briese popped into the Eagle Communications studio to talk about different programs his office has to offer, tax scam signs, unclaimed property, bills in the Nebraska Legislature and so much more.&nbsp;
