The event starts at 5:00pm and the kids' race will start at 5:45pm. The run was created in honor of longtime Lincoln County CASA member Kevin Kennedy who passed away a few years ago.  The 5K kicks off at 5:00 PM, followed by the Kids Run starting at 5:45 PM. Unleash your inner hero and stand out in the crowd.

North Platte, Neb. - The Mid-Plains United Way recently held their Easter Egg Hunt event back on March 30th at Pals Brewing. The event was a huge success in the kid's egg hunt but also the adult hunt, as over $3,000 was raised. Mid-Plains United Way is also getting ready for Giving Day on May 8th. The organization also recently introduced a monthly donation online from the organization's website if you would like to give a recurring donation.&nbsp;

North Platte, Neb. - NPIce concluded their second year with great successful. NPIce offered public skating, hockey lessons, drop-in hockey, learn to skate and residents and surrounding communities took notice and made the trip out to the rink in North Platte.&nbsp;&nbsp;

NPIce is already looking ahead for the 2023-2024 winter season and has sponsorships and project goals ready to go. A goal project goal that NPIce has been thinking about is adding a cover over the rink. During Feb. we seen a few days where the warm weather caused the ice to melt. NPIce will be a part of Giving Day on May 8th, planning on doing more dine out days and also having a glo ball golf tournament in North Platte.&nbsp;

OGALLALA - The Keith County Area Development (KCAD) is hosting a celebratory event Wednesday, March 27th for Keith County entrepreneurs. The event is taking place at Second Chapter Brewing in Ogallala from 4:00-6:00pm (MT). The event is free to attend. The event was designed to bring together Keith County entrepreneurs to network and bounce ideas off each other and more.&nbsp;

Topics discussed were a new format of agenda for the city council agenda, parking ordinance for the Willow Street Via Duct and a wetland purchase agreement for Tall Grass Company.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The Polar Plunge is an annual event that challenges participants to show support for the Special Olympics Nebraska by plunging into a lake - in the dead of winter. Plungers are encouraged to form teams, dress in costume and share their experience by using the hashtag #BeBoldGetCold.&nbsp;

Those brave enough to run into the icy waters raise money by collecting pledges from family and friends. Prizes are awarded for creativity and fundraising. Proceeds from the Polar Plunge support over 6,000 Nebraskans with intellectual and development disabilities who participate in Special Olympics Nebraska.

Join us! Don't miss the opportunity to capture the excitement and spirit of this remarkable event. Plungers and law enforcement volunteers who are actively involved with the Special Olympics Nebraska movement will be present and eager to share their inspiring sorties and enthusiasm for the cause.

<b>North Platte Kubota Podcast: </b>Trey &amp; Dayna Wasserburger of North Platte, Nebraska will tell you it takes the whole family to make their ranch successful; that and 364 days of preparing for their annual bull sale which will take place on March 15 at Rishel Ranch south of North Platte. They'll be selling 350 bulls to buyers in person at their ranch and online, in years past to over 30 different States, even Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen has even RSVP'd for the event. Trey Wasserburger says, "it's cool to have a Governor that is Ag based in the beef state."

Post News Director Canon Rath chatted with Angela Hipp and Ted Pucylowski and their upcoming event with Community Connections next Tuesday at Venue 304 in North Platte. The event co-hosted with TeamMates Mentoring Program is free and open to the community. Community Connections mentoring program offers year-round mentoring while TeamMates Program is academic school year. Mentors spend 4-8 hours a week with their mentees while doing activities. NORTH PLATTE - The North Platte city council held a special meeting on February 21st, and different agendas were discussed amongst the council. Topics discussed were repair work on the Willow Street via duct, annexations of property behind Starbucks and Sonic, Arpa funds for road paving and so much more.&nbsp;
