(GRAND ISLAND, NEB.) — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol arrested one person following a pursuit Sunday evening in Hall County.
At approximately 10:15 p.m. Sunday, a trooper observed a motorcycle traveling in excess of 100 miles per hour on Interstate 80 near Shelton. As the vehicle exited I-80 at the Shelton interchange, at mile marker 291, the trooper attempted a traffic stop. The rider refused to yield and accelerated to approximately 120 miles per hour. The trooper initiated a pursuit.
The motorcycle turned eastbound onto Highway 30 and continued fleeing at a high rate of speed. As the motorcycle reached the western side of Grand Island, the rider laid the motorcycle down in a ditch near West Park Plaza and fled on foot. Additional troopers, Hall County deputies and Grand Island police officers, responded to the scene to assist in the search. A short time later, a trooper located the subject hiding under a porch.
The rider, Kade Coble, 38, of Alda, was arrested for flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, driving under revocation, obstructing a peace officer, numerous traffic violations, and multiple outstanding warrants. He was lodged in Hall County Jail.
