CASS COUNTY, Mo.—A Nebraska man died in an accident just before 10:30p.m. Friday near Kansas City.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2018 Ford Explorer driven by a 30-year-old Lee's Summit man was southbound in the northbound lanes of Interstate 49 at MO 291 The SUV struck a 2012 Toyota Prius driven by a 22-year-old Seward, Nebraska man.
The driver of the Prius was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to the Forensic Medical of Kansas.
EMS transported the SUV driver and two passengers in the Prius including a 21-year-old man a 24-year-old Lincoln, Nebraska man to Research Medical Center. EMS also transported a third passenger in the Prius, a. 21-year-old Omaha, Nebraska man to Belton Regional Medical Center. The Omaha man was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
The Patrol did not report the hometown of the 21-year-old transported to Research Medical Center. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
