I-80 westbound closure for bridge work near Lincoln set for September

 (Lincoln, Neb.) — Weather permitting on Monday evening, Sept. 9, the westbound lanes of I-80 will be closed at 8 p.m., according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

Hawkins Construction, Co. of Omahais the contractor for the project. Westbound I-80 traffic will be detoured at the I-80 / I-180 Interchange (Exit 401) and routed west on Hwy 34 to Matzke Highway, turning south and accessing I-80 at the Milford Interchange (Exit 382).

Detours will be removed and I-80 traffic will resume by 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10. The closure is for the placement of bridge girders over I-80 on the NW 126th Street and NW 98th Street overhead bridges. In the event of inclement weather conditions, this schedule will be revised. Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, put phones down
