Mary Etta Witt passed away on January 31, 2026. She was born to Marion and Isabell (Dwyer) Triplett in Lamar, Colorado on June 4, 1941. She grew up mostly in Keystone, NE and surrounding areas. Mary attended Ogallala High School and then later obtained her GED in 1980.
She was married to Robert “Bob” Bowker in 1965 and with this marriage came their children, Robert and Corinna. They divorced in 1967.
Mary was a waitress and cooked at the Husky Truck stop in 1972 where she met Vernon Fisher and they married in December 1972 and moved to Hershey. While there, she ran a café in Sutherland until 1986. They later moved to North Platte in 1988, where she worked many odd jobs.
During retirement she enjoyed playing shuffleboard, bunco, cribbage and card games. She loved cooking, baking, shopping, watching western movies, Walker Texas Ranger and the Golden girls. She also loved her Cheetos, as long as they weren’t puffed.
Mary loved her grandkids, Aaron and Amber, and spent many weekends with them and eventually adopted them in 1997, with Vernon, and then he died at the end of that year.
The summer of 2002, she met Elmer Witt and they wed in March 2014. With this marriage he brought his children Eric, Nick, Lynnette, and his stepchildren.
Mary loved being around family and attending the annual Dwyer and Triplett Family Reunions at the lake. She loved camping and had many friends. She was very loving and nurturing. Mary welcomed anyone and everyone into her home and was always great at hosting. She had so much love for her family, and everyone. To anyone who knew her, she was grandma or Aunt Mary.
