
Donald Robert North SR, age 81, passed away on Monday Morning , July 14, 2025 at his home in Tooele, Utah.
Don was born December 23, 1943 in Malad, Idaho to Amy Catherine and Arnold Ray North.
He was raised in Stone, Idaho and graduated from Malad High School.
He attended Weber State Auto Mechanics in Ogden, Utah.
He served in the Army in several different places around the world and was in the Vietnam War and Desert Storm War in 1991. He married Bonnie J. Chilton in Ogden, Utah November 13, 1964. Moved to Tooele, Utah in 1965. From this marriage they had three children: Donald Robert North Jr, Dennis Lee North and Deanna Lynn North. They were later divorced.
When he came home from the service, he continued working for the Tooele Army Depot, for 29 years. He then opened a floral shop, drove school buses in Tooele, Utah. He also worked for Cargyle Salt Plant for 11 years.
Don was a people person, talking to old friends, neighbors and strangers. He loved hunting, fishing, woodworking and anything he could create with his hands. He had every tool you could imagine and had it all organized to his liking.
Don is survived by his brothers: Dean (Celine) North, Gordon (Carol) North: his wife of 12 years Rosalie North. His son Donald Robert North, Jr. of Lincoln, NE and daughter Deanna Lynn North of Stapleton, NE
Step-children: Janica Williams, Shaun Nay, Andrea Leyba (Mike), Brittani Nay (Doug Block).
Grandchildren: Josh Powell (Kayley) of North Platte NE, Andrew Powell (Lorry) of North Platte, NE, Matthew Powell of Stapleton, NE, Ashleigh Matson of North Platte, NE, Troyce North of Sidney, NE, Great Grandchildren Zaiden, Brekkyn, Tenzley, Avryanna, Madilyn, Corvin, Chevelle and Axxle.
He was proceeded in death by his son Dennis Lee North, his brother Gary and his parents Amy and Arnold North, Great Granddaughter Maelee E. Powell.
A Gathering of family and friends will be held on July 31, at the Eagles Nest, Building 1005, Tooele Army Depot, Tooele, Utah 84074 from 6-8 p.m.
Also a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 1-4 p.m. at the LDS Church in Snowville, Utah.
