Kearney Truck Driver Arrested in Tennessee, Faces Numerous Charges Including Attempted Rape of a Child

Shelbyville, Tennessee - A Kearney truck driver was arrested on Friday by Tennessee authorities after he tried to meet up with a minor. 

According to a press release by the Shelbyville Police Department (SPD), detectives arrested Edwards Charles Cress of Kearney on Friday. Detectives have been investigating Cress for six months.

SPD reports that Cress altered his truck routes to meet up with a 12-year-old female for sexual purposes and distributed multiple images and videos of child pornography.

Cress is currently being held at the Bedford County Correction. He is being charged with charges of Solicitation of a Minor, Attempted Rape of a Child, and two counts of Aggravated Exploitation of a Minor.

Cress's bond is set at $500,000.
