
Dale D. Arensdorf, of Tryon, passed away on March 9, 2026, at North Platte, at the age of 96. Dale was born January 19, 1930, in Sutherland, Nebraska, to Joe and Theresa (Leadabrand) Arensdorf. He grew up in southwestern McPherson County and attended District 60 school through the 8th grade. As a young man, Dale worked for area farmers and his uncles in the fields and worked on the Huffman Ranch for five years.
On June 7, 1952, Dale married Esther Winters, in Julesburg, Colorado. They made their first home on the Huffman Ranch. In May of 1953, the couple moved to the Walt and Oona Bassett Ranch, where they raised their family.
Dale served as a school board member for District 5 and McPherson County High School. He loved working with his hands and caring for the land, living the ranch lifestyle. Family time was very important to him. Dale and Esther enjoyed dancing, attending rodeos, hunting, and fishing together. In the fall of 2022, Dale moved to live with his son Dan, and his wife Berva, and most recently resided at Linden Court.
Dale is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Esther; his parents; daughter-in-law, Shelly; grandson, Jason; great grand-children, Jessika, Gabriel, Job, and Hope; brother Ralph and sister-in-law, MegAnn Arensdorf; sisters Alma Walz, Anna Melvin, and Marge Hehnke; sister-in-law, Shirley Arensdorf; and brother-in-law Dick Jones.
He will be remembered by his children: Deb (Jim) Schmidt, Dan (Berva) Arensdorf, Jeff Arensdorf, Pat (Cliff) Dailey, and Dale (Peg) Arensdorf; 15 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren with one on the way; sisters Darlene Jones, Mildred (John) Polanco, Karen (Jack) Livingston; brothers Harold Arensdorf, and Ray (Lynn) Arensdorf; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 2 PM, at McPherson County High School with Pastor Kort Kemp officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery in McPherson County. Visitation is Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 12 PM to 7 PM with family receiving friends from 5 PM to 7 PM at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home, who is overseeing arrangements.
