Lincoln, NE ‐ One lucky player who bought a Powerball® ticket with Power Play® for the Saturday, December 23 drawing is holding a ticket worth $2 million.
The Nebraska Lottery has confirmed that one ticket sold for Saturday's $620 million Powerball draw matched the first five numbers, but not the Powerball number itself. The ticket was sold at Pony Express Emerson, 1013 So Main, in Emerson. The winning numbers from Saturday's Powerball draw were 09, 14, 17, 18, 53, Powerball 06, and Power Play 03. Players are encouraged to check their tickets at any Nebraska Lottery retailer, online at nelottery.com, or by calling the Lottery office at 402-471-6100.
Because this ticket was purchased with the $1 Power Play option, the regular $1 million prize was automatically doubled to $2 million.
Winning Nebraska Lottery Lotto tickets expire 180 days after the drawing. Prizes of $20,000 or more must be claimed in person at Lottery headquarters in Lincoln. Nebraska Lottery offices will be closed Monday, December 25 for Christmas. The Nebraska Lottery has offered Powerball since July 1994. The odds of winning $2 million playing Powerball are 1 in 11,688,053.52. Adding the $1 Power Play option, which does not affect the odds of winning, gives players the chance to increase any non-jackpot prizes won by 2, 3, 4, or 5 times. The Match 5 prize is set at $2 million if the Power Play option is purchased. The overall odds of winning any Powerball prize are 1 in 24.9.
