Kearney Volunteer Fire Department
KVFD is saddened to report the identity of the victim of the early morning house fire that occurred on Sunday, January 14, 2024 was Terry Grossman, a 61-year-old female from Kearney. KVFD responded to the structure fire at 1212 B Avenue in Kearney at approximately 3:30 AM. KVFD firefighters located an adult female inside the residence who was deceased prior to being rescued from the residence. Lifesaving efforts were made at the scene, sadly, those efforts were unsuccessful. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Terry Grossman during this difficult and painful time. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the emergency responders who assisted in battling the fire.
KPD, Gibbon Volunteer Fire Department, CHI Good Samaritan Hospital, NPPD and Northwestern Energy responded to assist at the scene.
