On June 4 at approximately 12:30 p.m. the Dawes County Sheriff's Office and the Dawes County Attorney/Coroner were dispatched to rural Dawes County to investigate the unattended death of 24-year-old Charles Rath.
"After a review of the scene, the evidence recovered on the scene, interviews with witnesses and a review of testing results; death by self-inflicted gunshot wound is the preliminary determination for cause of death," Dawes County Attorney/Coroner Vance Haug said.
