Myrth Marlene (McAfee) Morse, age 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2026, in North Platte, Nebraska. She was born on May 5, 1939, in Imperial, Nebraska, where her story began and where many of her earliest memories were formed.

In 1955, Myrth married the love of her life, Lee Morse, beginning a marriage that spanned more than seventy years. Together they built a family rooted in love, faith, and resilience. Their life’s journey took them through several Nebraska communities — Imperial, rural Chase County, Lamar, Sidney, Scottsbluff, and finally North Platte — each chapter filled with new friendships, new experiences, and a deepening sense of home.

Myrth devoted many years to raising her family as a dedicated homemaker. As her children grew, she extended her gifts into the workplace. She worked at JCPenney from 1976 to 1991, where she was known for her kindness and steady presence. In 1991, she joined First National Bank, where she remained until her retirement in 2020. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care touched coworkers and customers alike.

Her faith guided her throughout her life, and she poured that faith into service. She volunteered with the Berean Church Youth Group and taught Sunday School for many years, shaping young hearts with her patience, compassion, and gentle wisdom.

Myrth was preceded in death by her father, Watson McAfee; her mother, Gladys McAfee; her beloved daughter, Anita Leslie; her grandparents, John and Katharine “Granny” McAfee; and William and Helena (Uruhn) Peters.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Lee Morse, and by her children: Rex (Karen) Morse, Debra Morse, and Scott Morse.

She leaves behind a loving family of grandchildren: James Morse, John (Jamie) Morse, Amanda (Aaron) Leslie, Adam (Jirah) Leslie, Amy Leslie, Carrie (Jeremy) Galloway, Ben (April) Morse, Andraya (Chris) Barber, and Daniel Morse.

Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Noah, Alaina, Easton, Amari, Emerson, Aurora, Atlas, Vera, Chance, and Daisy — each of whom brought her immense joy.

Myrth is also survived by her siblings — Gary (Connie) McAfee, Dennis McAfee, and Kevin McAfee — as well as dear friends who became like family: Craig, Nancy, and Alyssa Fabik, and Alan and Teri Johnson.

Myrth will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her gentle spirit, her devotion to family, and the countless lives she touched through her kindness and service. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and quiet strength — a legacy that will continue to live on in all who knew her.

A memorial service honoring Myrth’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Berean Church, located at 202 W 8th Street, North Platte, Nebraska. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather in remembrance, fellowship, and celebration of her life and faith.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berean Church, Maranatha Bible Camp or to Bethel Bible Camp at Wellfleet, three ministries that reflected Myrth’s heart and lifelong commitment to sharing the love of Christ.
