Crews battling a wildlife fire near Hudson-Meng Kill Site

Fire crews are battling a wildfire in Northwestern Nebraska near Hudson-Meng Buffalo Kill Site according to officials. The Hudson-Men Buffalo Kill Site is located on the Ogalala National Grasslands. 

Crews are battling the wildfire southwest of Hudson Meng and north of Eagle Eyes. The last update states that 80 acres have been burned according to the Nebraska National Forest and Grasslands Facebook page.  

The U.S. Forest Service, Crawford, Chadron and Harrison are on scene. The Nebraska National Forest and Grassland states this fire is in difficult terrain with safety concerns of snags and heavy dead & down timber. Fire fighters are planning to use natural barriers and mechanical lines to contain this fire.
