North Platte, Neb. - The North Platte Public Schools Foundation is getting to host a few events July 26th and July 27th. On July 26th, its the Excellence of Evening and on the 27th, it's the Bulldog Classic.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The Evening of Excellence is set for July 26th at Venue 304 in North Platte. The event will feature NPHS Distinguished Alumni. The night will feature a cocktail hour, auction, recognition and more. This years theme is Speakeasy, Dirty 30's Celebrating 30 years. Cocktail hour begins at 6:28pm and the event begins at 7:28pm. Tickets are $60 individual or $500 for a table or a new option to reserve a table for $650 with wine or charcutier board. The following day is the 4th Annual Bulldog Golf Classic taking place at Lake Maloney Golf Course in North Platte. Proceeds will help go towards supporting the NPPSF Dual Credit Scholarship Program and the NPHS Booster Club.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Wichita War Dancer to perform this afternoon at the Buffalo Bill Ranch in North Platte

North Platte, Neb. - The North Platte Pow Wow is getting ready to kick off their fifth year beginning with an event at Pal's Brewing on Thursday with the official ceremony scheduled for Friday and lasting until Sunday. The event brings folks from all over the U.S. to learn Native American culture. This year's Pow Wow is honoring veterans.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The North Platte Pow Wow is July 19th-July 21st at the Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park Museum. Admission is $7 a day or weekend pass is $15. It is advised to bring your own lawn chair to the event and to camp on-site, a NE Game and Parks Permit is required.&nbsp;&nbsp;

North Platte, Neb. - The Banisters Leadership Academy is hosting its 3rd Annual Car Wash fundraiser event on Saturday, July 20th at 1202 N. Jeffers Corner of Jeffers &amp; Rodeo Road. The event is a free will donation, and all proceeds will help fund the North Platte - Lincoln County programming for K-12th grade youth, teaching leadership, life, social and job readiness skills.&nbsp;

Food will be on scene as Rowdy Rott BBQ will be on location and 10% of their proceeds will raised during the event will be donated to the Banisters.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Imperial, Ne – It’s almost time for the annual <a href="http://imperialvalleyholinesscamp.org/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR0-gcUWZAvRmcpWp6_-MPgfpqk9iMAXsOErmhGq9LvpM_c7aAUdNwdGli8_aem_f4RRqe1PHkSAG5Kb0m4umw">Imperial
Valley Holiness Camp</a> held every summer in the area since 1911, and since 1950
just 3 miles east of Imperial. The 10-day camp kicks off on Thursday, July 18 downtown
Imperial with a Gospel Concert featuring <a href="https://youtu.be/zHTGLWKPD4Y?si=EC_ooPgZbDK3t6EI">Mark Umfleet</a>. Umfleet
won the 2021 Male Vocalist of the Year award from the Country Gospel Music
Association. The concert will be on the 700 block of Broadway in Imperial,
starting at 7pm MDT and is free to attend. 

Mark Umfleet is also the Evangelist at this years IVHC. He
and his wife Dori live in Forsyth, Montana where he pastors The Point and he
and Dori operate the WeeCare Child Care, a ministry within their church. The
Umfleet’s are joined at Imperial Valley Holiness Camp this July by Marcus A.
Whitworth Sr. who will be leading worship each day, Youth worker Deb Ballard from Missouri, Children’s Workers Kris
Mustion and Kathy Weintz and Missionary Krista Landaas who serves the Native
Americans in the southwestern United States.

New to this years Camp is a Vacation Bible School intended
for kids Preschool-5th grade from the greater Imperial area as well
as kids staying at the campgrounds. The Bible School will run Monday, July 22
through Friday, July 26 from 8:30am MDT until 11:30am. Carla Taylor, current
President of Imperial Valley Holiness Camp says if there is interest in children
needing a ride from town (Imperial) out to the campgrounds, that the Camp will
provide accommodations for those kids. During the Vacation Bible School, titled
“Farm Fresh Faith”, Taylor says “we’re gonna pour into your kids and love on
them, we’re gonna sing songs about Jesus, have lessons, crafts, snacks and
spend some time with them learning about Jesus.” Carla says if you have

The entire region is invited out for any of the days of the
camp meetings, below is the daily schedule along with the Sunday schedule which
is slightly different.

The Camp meetings are interdenominational and will run the

locations, people have come from Colorado, Kansas, Iowa, South Dakota and other
states to hear the Word. Taylor says the Camps mission is to “spend time in
God’s word, developing lasting relationships with Christian friends, then take
the Word of God home to share with others.”

Carla Taylor says the Imperial Valley Holiness Camp is
looking for a camper or RV that they could borrow or rent during the camp
meetings for their youth minister who does an early 4am zoom meeting part of
her ministry. If anyone reading from the area has a small camper or RV they’d
be willing to either donate or rent for the 10 days they can reach out to

Sutherland, Neb. - The 87th Annual Sutherland Rodeo is July 3rd - July 4th but events will begin on June 29th and run through July 4th. The community is preparing for another year of exciting events that everyone of all ages can enjoy. The golf tournament is June 29th,, and the rodeos are July 3rd - July 4th starting at 7:00pm. Rodeo admission is Adults $10, Children 6-12 $5, 5 and under are free.&nbsp;

North Platte, Neb. - the 2024 Junior Ambassador Classic Two-Day Golf Tournament will hit the links July 30th - July 31st in North Platte. The event is hosted by the North Platte Ambassadors. The two-day tournament features players aged 7-18 as they hit the links. The tournament is considered one of the best in the state from a competitive standpoint, but also for a player playing in their first ever tournament.&nbsp;

The two-day format looks like this:&nbsp;

Tuesday, July 30th @ River's Edge Golf Course OR optional Instructional Clinic&nbsp;

Wednesday, July 31st @ Lake Maloney Golf Course&nbsp;

The cost to participate in the tournament is $30 for 9-hole entry and $40 for 18-hole entry. Registration is open until July 24th.&nbsp;

Topics included the purchase of two new garbage trucks, negotiate contracts with Rice Lake West and an agreement with Union Pacific Railroad for repair to the Willow Bridge.&nbsp;

(Audio) Deborah's Legacy Landscape and Garden Tour this Friday and Saturday

North Platte, Ne - March 7 &amp; 8 of 2024 will be one the Kuhlmann family will remember for a long time. The night of March 7 was the evening that the area received a record snow of over 15 inches, 14.6 inches of that came over a 6-hour period, some portions of the area received closer to 20 inches of snow. At the KJ's Boots &amp; Western Wear store at the intersection of I-80 and the Hershey/Dickens road south of Hershey, all the snow that fell caused the business's roof to fail. Connie Kuhlmann (owner) said her husband Kevin had gone to the store on the afternoon of March 8 to clear their parking lot and scoop the walk when he went into the store around 5pm and realized part of the roof had collapsed.

A phone call went out from Kuhlmann at the time to friends and family, to rush to the store and try to get the inventory out of the building before a larger problem developed. Within an hour of the call, a dozen people showed up to help with trailers, moving dollies and manpower. Later a Facebook post for help went out on the local Hershey page, and within 15 minutes much of the community of Hershey came to the aide of the Kuhlmanns.

Nearly 3 months later, KJ's has reopened in North Platte in the old Sun-Mart building, now home to New Life Church, MEGA Gymnastics and CMH Interiors. Plans are still in the air for the old KJ's building in Hershey, but Connie Kuhlmann says "we hope to reopen in Hershey, but in the meantime North Platte has become our new home."

KJ's opened in North Platte on June 1, and is running a 20% off special through June 15th during the Buffalo Bill Rodeo, part of Nebraskaland Days. Store Hours 9m-6pm Monday-Saturday, 1-4pm on Sundays.&nbsp;

Nebraska is one of the only States that host their competition and pageant during a big rodeo event like the Buffalo Bill Rodeo at Nebraskaland Days according to 2010 Miss Rodeo Nebraska, Michelle Boeshart-Whitson. Whitson, who is the current MRN President says "we definetley set the bar, I think thats testimony to the amount of State Rodeo Queens that want to come to our pageant because they don't get a big stage from their own state."

She went on to say the the Miss Rodeo Nebraska Pageant "tries to replicate the Miss Rodeo America Pageant that all these girls will compete at if they win during the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas."

Miss Rodeo Nebraska Contest ready to start on Sunday; Former Miss Rodeo Nebraska says the 2024 contest could be one for the books (Podcast)

Ogallala, Ne - The 2024 Keith County Big Give is off to a great start. After one week they've achieved their first goal. The first goal was a $5,000 addition to a $75,000 match; the community needed to raise $175,000 by 5pm on Friday, June 6 for the $,5000 addition to be added. As of 10am that day, the number already stood north of $177,000. Keith County Big Give is a collaborative community effort focused on building a better community, together. &nbsp;

By focusing on common unity in our community, the residents, friends, and fans of Keith County can come together and build a better, stronger community with a robust and engaged giving base that ultimately helps the entire community thrive. &nbsp;Keith County Big Give is an opportunity to support and celebrate Keith County nonprofit organizations through a single online giving platform that will accept donations between June 1 and June 15, 2024. &nbsp;Donations may also be made by check or cash.

The fourth annual Keith County Big Give is presented by the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.keithcountyfoundation.org/">Keith County Foundation Fund (KCFF)</a>&nbsp;in partnership with Keith County nonprofit organizations. &nbsp;For 2024, every donation has an extra impact because participating nonprofit organizations will also get a proportional share of the total match funds of at least&nbsp;$75,000!

The primary goals for the 2024 Keith County Big Give are to:

<p>Ogallala, Ne - The 2024 Keith County Big Give is off to a great start. After one week they've achieved their first goal. The first goal was a $5,000 addition to a $75,000 match; the community needed to raise $175,000 by 5pm on Friday, June 6 for the $,5000 addition to be added. As of 10am that day, the number already stood north of $177,000. (Audio) Agriculture on the Bricks event set for Saturday in North Platte 

North Platte, Ne - The first Miss Rodeo Nebraska Pageant was held in 1956, and since 1991 the Hall of Fame Buffalo Bill Rodeo at Nebraskaland Days in North Platte has been the backdrop for Nebraska's top rodeo royalty. Miss Rodeo Nebraska, JoSee Saults from Big Springs, Nebraska began her rein in January and will hold the title through the Miss Rodeo America Pageant in December. Maci Cox from North Platte is the current Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska.&nbsp;

Both ladies will see their successors compete over the next week to become the next Miss Rodeo &amp; Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska. Coronation for both are next Wednesday in North Platte.&nbsp;

Teams include 1 adult and 1 child (under 15). Prizes will be awarded in different categories. Entry fee is $50 per time.&nbsp;
