NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — Families with young children are invited to Centennial Park on Saturday, Sept. 20, for the second annual Outdoor Play Extravaganza hosted by the High Plains Early Childhood Collaborative.
The free event runs from 9 a.m. to noon in the park’s parking lot and gazebo area and will feature family-friendly games and activities such as bubbles, building blocks and a nature scavenger hunt. The activities are designed for children ages 2 to 6, but all families are welcome.
Families who complete at least nine activities and finish their Bingo card will receive free snow cones from Snowball Express. They will also be entered into a drawing for a one-year family membership to the North Platte Area Children’s Museum. In addition, the first 30 families to register at the event will receive a gift package with household items.
Organizers say the goal of the Outdoor Play Extravaganza is to give families an opportunity to spend quality time together while encouraging fun, social learning experiences.
The Collaborative’s efforts to provide services and support for families, helping parents connect with community resources while enjoying time with their children.
