OGALLALA - The 2nd round of the Southwest Conference basketball tournament takes place this after at the McDonald-Belton Gym at North Platte Community College. The winners bracket gets kicked off today when the #1 seed Ogallala Indians have a rematch with the #5 Holdrege Dusters.
The #1 Indians (16-1, #7 ranked in C-1) head into this contest on a four-game winning streak. In the opening round of the Southwest Conference tournament, they defeated Valentine 77-50. Holdrege (9-7) defeated Ainsworth in overtime 75-73 in overtime. These two teams met back on December 7th when the Indians traveled to Holdrege and won 73-46.
The winner of this afternoon matchup will play Saturday at 3:30pm MT/4:30pm CT for the boy's championship game. The other boy’s semi-final matchup features rivals Cozad and Gothenburg.
