Two fires were reported south of North Platte on Saturday in Frontier County.

The Maywood Fire was reported at 12:20 p.m. A vegetation fire about 8 miles north of Bartley was reported around 2 p.m., and crews were clearing the scene by about 5:50 p.m. Later, at about 6:25 p.m., another vegetation fire broke out 4 miles south of McCook.

Meanwhile, the Cottonwood Fire increased in activity and engulfed three responder vehicles during Saturday’s Fire Weather Warning.
