Gothenburg, Ne - The Ogallala girls basketball team coming off two losses last week against McCook and Broken Bow went to #4 Gothenburg on a snowy Tuesday night and upset the Swedes 65-63. The Indians led 16-2 in the first quarter before Gothenburg scored 18 points in a row and took a 20-16 lead early in the second quarter.
Gothenburg would lead at halftime 30-24 and led 47-41 heading into the fourth quarter. Ogallala Sophmore Shadyn Rasby would score 12 of her 15 points in the fourth quarter along with a huge game by Junior Laney Caskey who scored a season high 24 points in the game. Ogallala took the lead with 3:59 to go in the game to win 65-63.
Gothenburg lost for just the third time this year, Ogallala goes to 14-8 and hosts Maywood-Hayes Center on Thursday night in Ogallala.
