North Platte Police Department Press Release

North Platte, Neb. -&nbsp;On 12/23/24 at around 11:21 A.M. North Platte Police Department officers were dispatched to the 300 block of North Jeffers on the report of an accident involving a pedestrian.&nbsp; Investigation showed that a pedestrian on the East side of the street, to the North of the crosswalk, attempted to cross Jeffers Street in a westerly direction.&nbsp; A semi-truck and trailer were in the right-hand lane.&nbsp; 

The driver of the semi-truck swerved to avoid the collision.&nbsp; The pedestrian impacted the right side of the semi-truck and was spun around.&nbsp; One of the pedestrian’s legs was run over by the semi-truck.&nbsp; The pedestrian was transported to Great Plains Health by the North Platte Fire Department.&nbsp; No names are being released as this is an on-going investigation.
