Gena Jorgenson and Kelsey Clairmont are set for the 2024 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Athens, Ga., March 20-23. Events will take place at the Jack Bauerle Pool at Gabrielsen Natatorium.
Jorgenson, a sophomore from Aberdeen, S.D. qualified for the 1650 freestyle and 500 freestyle. Because of her qualification times in the two events, she was also invited to participate in the 400 IM.
Jorgenson logged career-bests in all three events at the Big Ten Championships, breaking the 1650 freestyle and 500 freestyle school records with times of 16:01.72 and 4:41.19. She finished fifth in the 1650 freestyle and 10th in the 500 freestyle at the conference meet. Jorgenson also is fourth all-time in the 400 IM (4:14.78) after a 20th-place finish in the Big Ten final.
Clairmont, a sophomore from Regina, SK, Canada, will compete for the Huskers on the platform. She qualified for the event after grabbing an eighth-place finish and a score of 502.75 at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships.
Clairmont has amassed eight top-three finishes on the season and finished 27th in the event at the Big Ten Championships (182.40).
Jorgenson is one of 281 swimmers and Clairmont is one of 41 divers competing in the championship events.
Coverage will begin at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20 on ESPN+ with the 200 medley relay and the 800 freestyle relay competitions.
