Motorcyclist Arrested in North Platte After Fleeing from Police

North Platte, Neb. - On 12/23/24, reports were received from three different citizens concerning the driving behavior of a motorcyclist.  The behavior reported was described as reckless with the driver traveling at high rates of speed, disregarding traffic signs and swerving in and out of traffic. 

At 5:07 P.M. NPPD officers observed the motorcycle near E and Dewey traveling north at a high rate of speed.  Officers attempted to stop the motorcycle, but the driver refused to comply.  The motorcycle continued Northbound on Dewey, running through several stop signs on Dewey.  The pursuit was discontinued for safety reasons.  The City of North Platte automatic license plate readers were utilized during the investigation, along with Nebraska State Patrol fixed wing aircraft.  The offending vehicle and the vehicle owner were identified. 

On 12-24-24 at around 8:30 A.M. contact was made with Jackson Rodriguez, age 20, of North Platte.  Jackson Rodriguez was arrested and charged with Driving Under Suspension- a Class II Misdemeanor, Willful Reckless Driving - a Class III Misdemeanor, Flight to Avoid Arrest - a Class IV Felony and several other traffic infractions.  Rodriguez was jailed and his motorcycle was impounded.
