Nebraska track and field looks to continue climbing the ranks while the team hits the road for the second time this season at the esteemed Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., this Friday and Saturday.
Athletes from 44 different schools will be represented at the Randal Tyson Track Complex, with running events beginning at 1 p.m. (CT) and field events starting at 1:15 p.m. (CT) on Friday.

Huskers in the Polls:
Nebraska men’s track and field is ranked 11th in the third week of the USTFCCCA rankings after a big weekend at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational.
The Husker men have posted four marks inside the top-10 nationally, while adding six all-time marks this season. Highlighting the group are high jumpers Tyus Wilson (7-4 ¼, 2.24m) and Mason Kooi (7-3 ¾, 2.23m) who cleared the No. 2 and No. 3 marks in the NCAA this season, and Maxwell Otterdahl who is fourth in the country with a shot put throw of 64-7 (19.68).Nebraska women’s track and field are 12th in this week’s poll, as the women have four top-10 marks and 15 marks in the all-time Husker list. Jenna Rogers leads the way as she holds the top high jump in the nation, 6-4 1/4 (1.94m).The Husker men are the top-ranked Big Ten team and have three event squads ranked in the top 10 nationally, including high jump at No. 1, weight throw at No. 6 and shot put at No. 7. On the women’s side, Nebraska is ranked No. 2 in the Big Ten and No. 1 in shot put, No. 2 in high jump, No. 3 in the pentathlon, No. 5 in long jump, No. 6 in weight throw and No. 8 in pole vault.
Rogers, Wicker Earn Weekly Honors
Nebraska track and field’s Rogers and Wicker earned Big Ten Track and Field Weekly honors, announced by the conference office this season. After her record-setting performance last week, Rogers, the USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week, claimed a share of the Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week honor, and Wicker was named the Freshman of the Week, the first Husker to complete this feat.A native of Rutherford, N.J., Rogers cleared a personal-best and Husker school record 6-3 1/4 (1.91m) in the high jump and took the early collegiate lead. Freshman Wicker, a 2024 New Balance Indoor National Champion, made his Husker debut last week at the Holiday Open, clearing 17-4 1/4 (5.29m) to claim the event title.

ohansson Named to The Bowerman Preseason Watch List
Johansson was one of 10 track and field athletes nationally named to The Bowerman 2024 women's preseason watch list. The Bowerman, presented by the USTFCCCA, is the highest track and field accolade given annually to the most outstanding college male and female athletes. First awarded in 2009, watch lists have been released since 2010.A four-time All-American, Johansson claimed the 2023 Outdoor NCAA title and Indoor NCAA silver medal in the shot put. The junior from Hok, Sweden swept the Big Ten shot put titles last season, putting up a school record-breaking mark of 64-1 1/4 (19.54m) at the outdoor meet to earn the Big Ten Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year honor. Earlier in the season, Johansson topped the indoor school record book, throwing a 63-4 (19.30m) at the Frank Sevigne Invitational.
