Stapleton, Neb. - The community of Stapleton has been working on raising funds for a new splash pad for the community to enjoy during the warm months at the Village of Stapleton Park. Since 2023, funds have been raised between grants and fundraisers.
The project has brought in a total of $148,000 at this time but still needs to raise $17,000 by February 28th to purchase vertical features for the splash pad. Vertical features include the bucket dump, spray cannons and arches.
The Stapleton Committee is hoping enough community donations or more grant money is received in order to purchase the remaining vertical features. As of now, 77 bricks have been purchased but are still 23 shy of the goal of 100 bricks. Brick purchases feature name, business, memorials, or messages with a donation of $100 or more.
