OGALLALA, Neb. — Dust off your boots and saddle up for a weekend of high-energy action and Western fun as the Ogallala Round-Up Rodeo rides back into town July 26–27. This NRSA-sanctioned rodeo promises two full days of thrilling competition, family-friendly entertainment, and a few new surprises.
New to this year’s lineup is a goat roping event open to the public following Saturday night’s rodeo performance — giving spectators a chance to step into the arena and test their roping skills.
The rodeo kicks off both nights at 6 p.m. Mountain Time, but the fun starts even earlier. Kids ages 6 to 12 can take part in a calf scramble ahead of the rodeo each evening. And for the youngest cowboys and cowgirls, mutton bustin' will be held both Saturday and Sunday nights. Sign-ups for mutton bustin' close at 5:30 p.m., with a $10 entry fee per child.
The weekend fun continues Sunday morning with steer roping, beginning at 9 a.m., showcasing skilled ropers in a true test of timing and teamwork.
Whether you're a rodeo regular or new to the arena, the Ogallala Round-Up is more than just a competition — it's a full-on celebration of Western heritage and community spirit. So bring your family, your friends, and your best rodeo cheer — you won’t want to miss a minute of the action.
