The Keith County Chamber is just a few hundred dollars away from reaching its goal to fund this year’s community fireworks show.
Membership Director Dawn Haney says the fundraiser has raised more than $34,000 toward its $35,000 target, with a deadline at the end of the month to secure early purchase pricing.

“Right now, we’re sitting at $34,384 towards our $35,000 goal,” Haney said. “We are right there… we’re just about $600 away from fully funding the show.”
Haney says the effort has been a true community-wide initiative, with support coming from major sponsors, local businesses, and individual donors.
“It’s truly been a community-wide effort, major sponsors to individuals giving,” she said. “It’s been wonderful support from Keith County and the city.”
The fundraiser comes at an important time, as dry conditions and wildfire concerns could limit personal fireworks use this year, making a community show even more valuable.
In addition to the fundraiser, the Chamber is promoting several upcoming events across Keith County.
A Coffee Connection event is scheduled for Friday at Western Resources Group, tying in with Clean Up Week and offering tours and workshops focused on recycling and waste reduction.
“I think it’s wonderful for our community, and I think we’re pretty blessed to have them in our community,” Haney said.
Later this month, an employment law seminar will be held on April 21, providing guidance for employers navigating workplace regulations.
Looking ahead to May, the Chamber will host a Business After Hours event at Banner Health during National Hospital Week, followed by a ribbon cutting for Applied Connective.
Haney also highlighted a new online member center and community hub designed to connect businesses and residents.
“I believe [it’s] created a lot more value with membership,” she said.
The platform allows businesses to post job openings, share events, and connect with others in the community, while also giving residents access to job listings and event notifications.
Haney says the continued support from the community has made her role especially rewarding.
“It’s honestly been encouraging, the support that this community provides,” she said. “It’s pretty fun. I enjoy it.”
With the fundraiser nearing its goal, community members are encouraged to contribute and help bring the annual fireworks show to life.
