Mid-Plains Community College’s Ogallala campus is inviting the public to a full day of activities next Wednesday, offering opportunities for students of all ages to get involved.
Jenni Soper with the Ogallala campus says the highlight of the day is “Make Your Schedule Day,” designed to help both current and prospective students prepare for upcoming classes.
The event will allow early entry students, prospective students, and even parents of younger children to explore programs, ask questions, and register for classes. Soper says staff will be available to walk attendees through the entire process, including financial aid and advising, with computers on-site for immediate enrollment.
She adds the event is especially helpful for non-traditional students, offering step-by-step assistance from application through enrollment. Fall classes are already filling quickly, making early registration important.
In addition to enrollment opportunities, the campus will also host a hands-on bread-making class led by a University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension educator. Participants will prepare a loaf to take home and bake, allowing them to enjoy fresh bread straight from their own oven.
An art class will also be offered that evening, featuring a beginner-friendly watercolor project led by an instructor from Nebraska Art and Soul. The class is designed for all skill levels, encouraging even those without prior experience to participate.
Soper says the goal is to create a welcoming environment with something for everyone, all in one place. The campus expects a busy day and encourages community members to attend, ask questions, and take advantage of the available resources.
More information and registration details are available through the Mid-Plains Community College Ogallala campus.
